Chapter 434 The Truth

It was a dark night. The humid air enveloped the staggered and undulating eaves.

From a distance, the street was long and quiet as if it had been an endless fairyland.

The sound of thunder was faint and it was about to rain.

As Huanan He spurred his horse to go back to his mansion, he was suddenly stopped by a man in black at the entrance of the alley.

The horse was startled and neighed, stepping in place with its four hooves. It turned back and forth, keeping snorting.

Huanan He grasped the reins more tightly, glancing at the man in black angrily.

He shouted, "Bad thief! I'm the Prince, and how dare you rob me?"

"Your Highness, I have something important to tell you," said that man.

"The man's voice sounds familiar," thought Huanan He.

"You... You're the man that night..." said Huanan He.

After successfully pacifying his horse, Huanan He sitting on the back of the horse looked down at the man in black.

That man was in a black Kungfu suit with his hair and face covered by a black cloth. He was dressed the same way he was that night. He had clear eyes which impressed Huanan He.

Huanan He was sure that the man was the one who helped him get out of trouble that night.

That night, he was concerned about Lady Yun who was sick, so he sneaked into the imperial harem to visit her. But he was recognized as an assassin by the guards of the Eastern Depot. When he was chased by Yue Xilou and had no idea how to get out of trouble, the man helped him.

It was him!

Huanan He asked, "Do you have anything to do with the Palace?"

Huanan He stared at the man watchfully.

"Who are you?"

The man with clear eyes looked into Huanan He's eyes. He was calm and behaved courteously.

"I'm the one who is loyal to Your Highness. On that day, I saved Your Highness from danger and told you that you must be cautious and tried to avoid being in trouble because of your love. However, why did you still insist on going to the Yonglu Temple and make yourself get into trouble?"

Hearing that, Huanan He was angry and shouted at him.

"You followed me!" said Huanan He.

"The person who followed you was someone else," said the man flatly.

"I have no choice but to come here to tell you that the emperor was greatly annoyed when he knew that you came to the Yonglu Temple. He personally came to your mansion to see whether you were in your home. Fortunately, someone explained it to him properly."

"What? The emperor came to my mansion?"

Huanan He was shocked.

That man narrowed his clear eyes and said to him in a low voice.

"The emperor is always on his guard against Your Highness and the people in your mansion can't be trusted. You must go home through the back door. This time, please trust me!" said that man.

Huanan He thought it unbelievable. He sneered at him.

"You only helped me once. Why should I trust you?" said Huanan He.

That man was very serious, stepping back and looking towards him in a polite way.

"Please think twice. You must be cautious. Otherwise, not only you but also the Concubine might be killed," said that man.

“Do you mean Lady Yun who lived in Jingyang Palace?"

Huanan He was frightened and was confused.

"Why does this mysterious man help me many times?" thought Huanan He.

"He said he is loyal to me. But why does he cover his face?"

"Is he a friend or a foe of me?"

When he wanted to look at him again, he found that man had already left.

Huanan He jumped off his horse and walked to the entrance of the alley. He wanted to know where he had gone. But finally, he failed.

He left his horse there and came to the back door of the Ninth Prince’s Mansion. Looking towards the high wall, he did not know whether to believe what the man said.

He doubted that man.

That man saved him when he was chased by the guards of the Eastern Depot in the imperial harem. So, he believed him.

What the man said confused him. So, he also doubted him.

"I'm just an invalid and have no power and no ambition. I just sympathize with that woman who is sick. I can't love her," thought Huanan He.

"She's the concubine of the emperor. If I'm in love with her, I'm stupid."

"So, why does the emperor still suspect me, an invalid?"

Because that man mentioned the woman in Jingyang Palace, Huanan He decided to believe him.

That beautiful woman was poor enough, so Huanan He did not want her to suffer more.

Then Huanan He did as that man said.

He wanted to see what was going to happen next.

He made up his mind, raising his feet and jumping over the wall.

The Ninth Prince's Mansion was large and had red walls.

It was dark and quiet. After jumping into the courtyard, he did not see anyone.

The sound of thunder was faint and lightning was intermittent. The atmosphere was ghostly. The humid air seemed to be mixed with the smell of blood.

Seeing that, Huanan He was shocked and was in a panic.

He tried to calm down, rushing to the bedroom and opening the door.

Then he was stunned and froze as if he had been nailed by some mysterious power.

He saw another "Huanan He" with silver hair sitting at the expensive red sandalwood table, holding his most beloved glazed porcelain cup and decently drinking tea.

Seeing that Huanan He rushed in, that man narrowed his beautiful eyes and wore a perfect smile.

"Dear brother, you're back," said that man.

"Who... Who are you?" asked Huanan He.

Huanan He was in a panic and stunned. He clenched his fists, closed his eyes, and shook his head violently.

He thought he was dreaming. But the fact was that this man was his twin brother. Huanan He just forgot him.

"I have come to the Ninth Prince's Mansion and you were drunk at that time," said that man.

Gu Di had sharp eyes. As he spoke, he used his hand to make wind, which made the door and window closed before Huanan He went out of the room.

Gu Di stood up slowly, looking into Huanan He's eyes. He seemed to know what Huanan He was thinking.

"I have told you that my name is Huanan Xian, and I'm your twin brother. Now you forget me, but I won't blame you. Just now, you were not at home, and I disguised myself as you. So, Huanan Xin didn't get you into trouble."

Gu Di touched his silver hair at his temples,

"I had a good idea after seeing you that day, which is to dye my hair. In the future, I'll continue to disguise myself as you and confront Huanan Xin. We must take revenge on Huanan Xin for the dead," said Gu Di.

"What? Are you gonna confront His Majesty? You're a bad guy. You must be arrested!"

Huanan He became angry and pointed at Gu Di. He was ready to call someone in to catch him.

Gu Di sneered at Huanan He.

"Forget it! The men who were sent by Huanan Xin to monitor you have been killed by me. That girl lying on the bed is useful for us. Otherwise, the first one I killed was her," said Gu Di.

Huanan He was speechless.

Turning around, Huanan He saw Commandery Princess Jingle lying on the bed stiffly.

"Ying'er..."

Huanan He shouted and turned pale, rushing towards the bed and picking up that girl who was closing her eyes tightly. He shook her violently.

"Ying'er! Ying'er! Are you okay? Wake up! I'm your Ninth Uncle. I'm back!"

Seeing that he was very concerned about that girl, Gu Di got angry and said to him in a loud voice.

"She's alive. She was too noisy, so I knocked her out," said Gu Di.

"You knocked..."

Huanan He stared at him, being annoyed.

He said, "I get it. The man in black in the alley is your partner. He stopped me and you disguised yourself as me. You wanna get Imperial Family Huanan into trouble!"

Huanan He wanted to punch Gu Di in the face and was ready to kill him.

Gu Di crossed his arms and defended himself. He stared at Huanan He coldly and fought against him.

They fought with each other fiercely in front of the bed and next to the table.

After a while, Huanan He clenched his fist and took the opportunity to hit Gu Di's face.

Gu Di groaned in agony and stepped back, feeling painful.

Huanan He lowered his head to look at his fingers.

“Your face is real..." said Huanan He.

For a moment, he looked at Gu Di's face in shock. Bloody wounds were on his face, showing that his face was real and was exactly the same as Huanan He's.

Gu Di covered his wounds with his hands, smiling miserably.

"My brother, I'm very disappointed in you. It's not your fault to forget everything and see foes as friends. But you shouldn't forget Yunxi who loves you deeply and makes great sacrifices for you."

"You have something to do with other women, which hurts Yunxi. You're sorry to her..."

"Yunxi?" said Huanan He.

A flash of lightning appeared. With the light of lightning, Huanan He looked paler.

Huanan He sweated suddenly and trembled, asking Gu Di about Yunxi.

"Yunxi? Do you mean Lady Yun? Why? She's the concubine of His Majesty. Why do you tell me about her?"

"She's your love, your wife!" answered Gu Di.

Suddenly, Gu Di became emotional and shouted at Huanan He who was confused. Gu Di was so sad that he was ready to cry.

"She's your wife. Always yours! In order to save you, she suffered a lot from the heart-by-heart blood bond. And in order to avoid sleeping with Huanan Xin, she would like to hurt herself by eating some medicine."

"She has sacrificed so much for you. You can forget anyone, but you shouldn't forget her!"

Outside the lightning and thunder appeared more, and the wind was strong. The storm was coming.

Huanan He was stunned and trembled, stepping back and leaning against the wall.

"No... No... Lady Yun is His Majesty's love. His Majesty is a good emperor. He can't... Impossible..." said Huanan He.

Gu Di was in a bad mood, staring coldly at Huanan He who was in great agony.

Gu Di walked towards Huanan He quickly, grabbing his shoulders tightly and urging him.

"Dear brother, you should remember all things quickly. It was Huanan Xin who killed your men! It was Huanan Xin who chased you to the western tribes! It was Huanan Xin who made your wife become his concubine! It was Huanan Xin who got you into big trouble! Your hair turned white because of him! Please remember!"
