Chapter 465 Marry Me, or Die!

Jingle ran for a long time on the wide and empty palace road until she felt so weak that she was about to collapse.

She slowed down and looked at the vast night sky. In the distance, she could see that the clouds were getting thicker in the sky and even the lonely full moon appeared hazy and pale.

She couldn't help feeling desolate. She felt that she was on the full moon, alone and helpless.

A few days ago, she met Yue Xilou outside Qinming Hall, and he took her out of the Palace and went all the way to the Royal Prison in the Eastern Depot. In the dark prison, she met the three people who had attacked her on the night of July 7th Girls' Day. They told her that it was the master of Jingyang Palace who had given them money and ordered them to ambush outside the Palace to attack Jingle when she appeared.

Jingle was so shocked that she shuddered and nearly fainted. The confession of the three convinced her. She did not forget that she had been slapped three times in the face by the evil woman, or that the woman and her beloved Ninth Uncle had been accused of having an affair at Yonglu Temple.

It turned out that the woman was so vicious! To get her Ninth Uncle, the woman had hired the most despicable scoundrels and tried to ruin her innocence. No wonder she had been neglected by her Ninth Uncle for no reason after that, and he had even refused to marry her in public. It turned out that it was all Concubine Yun's secret plan!

Burning with rage, she bit her lips and felt so painful as if she had been hurt by a sharp steel knife. Hatred and sadness were intertwined in her heart and it was difficult to calm down. After Yue Xilou's hard persuasion, she finally calmed down.

She loved her Ninth Uncle Huanan He the most. Even if she had been abandoned by him, her infatuation with him had never diminished. It was also for this reason that she did not want her beloved man to be implicated by Concubine Yun again. In the end, she decided to hide the matter for the time being and would not tell the emperor.

Moreover, if this matter was really going to be made public, it would also be detrimental to her reputation. On that evening, when she heard that the Emperor had gone to Jingyang Palace for dinner, Jingle immediately thought that the golden opportunity had come.

She had slipped into the Imperial Kitchen with the love potion she got from Yue Xilou and poured all the powder into the imperial wine when no one was paying attention.

After that, things went very smoothly, but the only pity was that Concubine Yun didn't drink the drugged wine. But Jingle thought it didn't matter as she walked. At least, one of the two drank it. It wouldn't take long for the drug to kick in. How could a woman who was ill and weak fight against a strong man who was highly skilled in martial arts?

Thinking of this, Jingle sneered with the satisfaction of getting revenge. But whenever she thought of the three thugs she had seen in the Royal Prison, memory instantly brought her back to that horrible night, with their ugly faces, their curses, their laughter... Jingle suddenly stopped. The sense of humiliation and uneasiness made her heart skip a beat.

She instantly became vulnerable. She put her head in her hands in the night, closed her red eyes, and screamed sharply. Countless night crows were disturbed by her cry. They fluttered their wings from the high ridges of the palaces and rushed towards the starry sky. "Who is there?" From the corner of one side of the palace wall came a man's questioning voice. His tone was charming and soft as if the drizzle in the morning had been dropping on the jade stairs. His tone resounded in the wind at night.

Her cry came to an abrupt end. She looked shocked, lifted her clothes, and hurried forward. Leshuang's fine face covered with powder flashed out from the side of the palace wall, and his clothes were almost as dark as the night. He looked out into the distance seriously and stared at the other side of the deep palace road where the light and sad figure disappeared for a long time.

...

The moment Jingle ran into Shuofeng Hall, she froze suddenly. The silver-haired man she had loved, hated, and scolded day and night was standing right in front of her at this moment.

The curtains were swaying in the wind. On the table, candles were flickering with sparks.

"Why are you here?" Jingle stared at him blankly and asked him in a hoarse voice after a moment.

She was suddenly secretly delighted. He still couldn't let her go. It seemed that he really cared about her. The silver-haired man was Huanan He.

That day, at the gate of his mansion, the incident attracted many people, and they whispered and talked. Huanan He was so mad at the time that he pushed her directly under the steps and ignored how pitiful she was. But after calming down, he regretted it.

After all, she was only a teenage girl, and she was the same age as when Gu Yunxi first entered the Eastern Depot, and she should not be treated so harshly by him. "I'm here to see you." Huanan He held a small white jade bottle in his hand. His handsome and noble face was covered with a confident smile, "Ying'er, I was impatient that day, and I was wrong. I was afraid you were hurt, so I came here to bring you a bottle of the medicinal oil."

In the two years of his amnesia, this girl had always accompanied him when he was down in the dark. The ambiguous emotions between love and protection had always been cherished in his heart. Even if he was hard-hearted, he had never been able to be completely cruel to her.

His hesitation rekindled hope in her sad and lost heart, and her tearful eyes lit up with joy and sorrow, "You always care about me, Ninth Uncle, and you still love me, right?" She threw herself into his arms and put her arms around his neck for fear that he would run away again. She wept and whispered, "Great, Ninth Uncle, you still love me. You will not abandon me, and you will marry me..."

"Don't do this, Ying'er. Let me go. Listen to me!" The man grabbed her shoulders with both hands and pushed them back, separating himself from her body, "Ying'er, we can't be like this in the future..."

His face was cold as ice. It was familiar yet strange. She was completely stunned, "Ninth Uncle, what did you say?" There was faint thunder outside. The stars and the moon were dim, and it was about to rain.

"You’re here just to tell me we'll never go back to where we were?" She raised her head, and her face was pale as paper. She stared blankly at his dark beautiful eyes and smiled with sad irony. He was no longer as tender as in the past. To her, there was only coldness and indifference in his eyes.

The shadow of candlelight was dancing between his eyebrows. He stared at her and paused for a while, still trying his best to be gentle and patient in his tone, "Ying'er, I’m sorry. I will make it up to you in the future. But I don't want to deceive you. I think I should be frank with you."

After putting the jade bottle in her palm, Huanan He sighed deeply, turned around, and left without any attachment. "Where are you going? Wait. Are you going to Jingyang Palace to find Concubine Yun?" She asked sharply behind his back.

Huanan He frowned and replied without turning his head, "It’s none of your business." After recovering his memory, Gu Yunxi was the only girl in his heart. Even though he felt sorry for Jingle, he couldn’t force himself to love her. He could only sincerely pray for her in the days to come and hoped that she would meet someone soon.

With a shattering sound, Huanan He turned around in surprise. Jingle had thrown the jade bottle in a rage, and the debris and medicinal oil were all over the place. With one hand behind her back, she approached him step by step, and her eyes red and swollen from crying were cold.

"Huanan He, you've gone too far. You hurt my feelings. I don’t want your medicinal oil. What do you think of me?"

She put her other hand on her chest and said viciously, "Now listen to me. My injury is not in my body but in my heart! You stabbed a knife in my heart with your own hands! You cut my heart into pieces and let it drip with blood! Medicinal oil can't heal my wound at all. Do you understand? Huh?"

A cold wind suddenly rushed at Huanan He. Thanks to his extraordinary martial arts, he stepped back slightly in time and dodged her attack. With a pair of scissors in her hand, Jingle’s eyes were cold and firm like the coldest blade. She was trying to kill him.

Her eyes were aggressive, and there was no room to back down or turn around. She looked at him and said word by word, "Huanan He, marry me or die. Make a choice!"
