It was at Luyuan Garden, the official post in Jing City.
The leopard licked the blood on its mouth and arched its back, fluffing up. The spots on its body were like copper coins.
The leopard's eyes were like green jadeites. The leopard looked around and made a terrible roar.
Then the hounds which ran amuck were subdued and stopped their attacks with a groan. They ran back to the envoys.
"Are you okay, Wang Can?" asked Huanan He.
In the sudden silence, a delicate voice came slowly. Wang Can who was stunned suddenly realized what happened because of the voice.
Beside Wang Can came the sound of bells and hoofs.
Wang Can looked to his side and saw a beautiful white horse.
The man on the white horse's back was extremely handsome in a dark red robe. His silvery hair was held high on the head with a purple golden crown. His bearing was awesome.
The sun shone on him as if he had been shining.
The sun rays changed their directions slightly. Then other people thought that he was more like a god from heaven to earth. He was cold, noble, and unassailable.
"Your Highness, you're here!" Wang Can said.
"Yes. His Majesty asked me to come here."
Huanan He said that flatly. He looked coldly at the warriors of Ying State who gradually came towards them from the group of the envoys.
"Fortunately, we're safe because of you." Wang Can said.
Seeing Huanan He, Wang Can was shocked. But now, he was surprised. He wiped away the sweat on his forehead and stood up with the help of the guard who came with Huanan He.
Huanan He's imperial horse was indeed better than a common horse. It could catch up with a common horse as quickly as possible.
At that moment, Huanan He was glad that he arrived timely. If he had come here later, the very bad warriors would have made their men into trouble.
Suddenly, General Yuancang in the carriage angrily asked the warriors to retreat.
When the warriors heard that, they were like the defeated hounds, going back to the envoys. They didn’t dare to cause trouble.
General Yuancang stared at the man on the white horse's back.
General Yuancang had come across many people, but he had never met someone as handsome and noble as the man with silvery hair in the red robe.
General Yuancang looked outside with his head out of the carriage. He said to the interpreter in a low voice.
Then the interpreter said to Wang Can.
"The General wants to know whether the man on the horseback is His Majesty, the Emperor of Da Yi."
Wang Can was frightened.
If the people of Da Yi had said something like that, they would have been considered disloyal to the Emperor.
When Wang Can was ready to say something, Huanan He replied to the interpreter calmly.
"You tell him that he is like the blind dog. I'm Huanan He, the uncle of His Majesty. He is daydreaming. His Majesty doesn't need to welcome the envoys from the small state."
"I just walk my leopard here. It's a coincidence to meet you."
The interpreter's face was red from anger. One could tell that he was gloomy from his appearance.
The interpreter had no choice but to translate what Huanan He said to General Yuancang. But he did not translate the words that would make General Yuancang angry.
General Yuancang twirled the mustache beside his lips and smiled slightly. Then he said to the interpreter again.
The interpreter raised his eyebrows with an icy look.
He said to Huanan He, "General Yuancang has known that the leopard is your pet. He asked why Your Highness allowed your pet to kill his hounds."
Huanan He sneered at him.
He said, "Before I reply to you, you should answer my question. Da Yi is a country that pays attention to etiquette, and we welcome you with great courtesy."
"But as soon as General Yuancang came to our country, he allowed his fierce hounds to hurt our people. Why?"
That interpreter was stunned and whispered to General Yuancang. Then he said to Huanan He.
"General Yuancang apologizes. It's just a match between his pet hounds and your people."
"The General is very sorry for the fact that your people are weaker than hounds!"
"Son of b*tch. So arrogant, brutal, and pretentious!" Huanan He thought.
Although Huanan He cursed him secretly, he wore a smile.
"Our people are kind and believe in Buddhism. According to Buddhism, they will not hurt an ant while cleaning the floor, let alone the hounds."
"The beasts can't speak and are competitive. Since they are determined to compete, it's fair to choose the leopard, Heifeng, as their opponent."
"Now, your hounds are weaker than my leopard. Heifeng also feels sorry for that."
After saying that, Huanan He narrowed his eyes towards that leopard.
The leopard knew what he meant, so it immediately lay on the ground obediently.
Huanan He raised his eyebrows, staring at General Yuancang. Huanan He continued to say to him more seriously.
"Look! My pet is apologizing to the General's pets. Can the General personally come out of the carriage to kneel and make amends to my people?"
The interpreter was speechless with his mouth being half open. He blinked his eyes and his face turned pale.
The interpreter thought, "What? The beasts that can't speak and are competitive? This sounds so weird. The uncle of the Emperor of Da Yi doesn't talk about the hounds. He is cursing us!"
The interpreter looked down angrily and felt ashamed.
Behind the interpreter, the General in the carriage asked the interpreter something in their language.
The interpreter had no choice but to turn around and angrily tell him what Huanan He said.
Then General Yuancang was in a bad mood and looked at Huanan He coldly.
Before he got crazy, his wife gently walked out of the carriage behind his carriage. She said something to her husband.
After General Yuancang heard what Mrs. Yuancang said, he calmed down. But he had mixed feelings.
Seeing that, Huanan He whispered to Wang Can.
"What is that woman talking about? Why doesn't the interpreter translate?" Huanan He asked.
Wang Can replied to him.
"Your Highness, Mrs. Yuancang is reasonable. She talked some sense into the General." Wang Can said.
General Yuancang reluctantly came out of the carriage and walked forward. After taking a look at Huanan He and Wang Can, he bent towards them.
The interpreter was a little surprised and hurried to say to Wang Can.
"Lord Wang, General Yuancang and Mrs. Yuancang have already come out of the carriage. Please read the imperial edict."
"Wait!" Huanan He said.
Huanan He abruptly interrupted them and raised an index finger. He waved the finger right and left to the General.
"The imperial edict can't be read now. The General's pets hurt our people, so the General should apologize to them. After that, the imperial edict could be read."
"Your Highness, I advise you not to get carried away!" The interpreter said.
The interpreter reached his limit. He said to Huanan He in a loud and husky voice.
"You get carried away!" Huanan He replied.
Huanan He stared at the General angrily.
He pointed at General Yuancang with his horsewhip and said to him loudly.
"You make trouble in Da Yi as envoys. Did the Emperor of Ying State ask you to do that?"
"If it is true, you may not kneel. Then the Ritual Minister will not read the imperial edict."
"You can go back to Ying State immediately by the way you came!"
It was pretty tense again.
Many people of Da Yi were shocked by Huanan He's impassioned words. They looked at his handsome face with admiration.
"You!" The interpreter said.
The interpreter widened his eyes angrily.
The clogs hit the ground with a pattering sound.
Mrs. Yuancang was the first to step out of line and stopped between the two lines of the honor guards. She lowered her head and kneeled in silence.
Huanan He and Wang Can did not expect her to do so.
After pausing for a while, Huanan He raised his eyebrows cynically, staring at General Yuancang.
Staring at his wife, the General was thinking about what to do, the muscle on his face trembling. Seeing them, Huanan He wore a bigger smile cynically.
"As a man and the major minister to deal with the affairs of Ying State, are you worse than a woman?"
Seeing that, the interpreter was speechless. He felt guilty and saw the General walking towards his wife in low spirits. Then the General kneeled and apologized to the people of Da Yi.
After he kneeled, all the envoys including the warriors and servants also kneeled.
Wang Can was shocked and nodded his head. He indeed admired the Ninth Prince for his wisdom and intelligence.
Hearing that the interpreter translated what the General said for apologizing, Huanan He smiled coldly. He held his one hand to Wang Can.
"Xingzhi, give me the imperial edict." Huanan He said.
Wang Can gave the imperial edict to Huanan He with his two hands.
Huanan He did not dismount, directly unfolding the yellow silk scroll. He was in the sunlight, reading the imperial edict in a loud voice towards the envoys of Ying State.
