Egan saw Prim looking at him in complete shock, like he was a ghost or something. 

Then she tried to yank her hand away.

He noticed that in her panic she had not taken in the explosion, or maybe she had and her need to get away from him was just stronger. 

People were screaming all around them and running, some towards the spot of the explosion, others away from it, for fear that there may be another explosive somewhere.
