“Here.” Egan walked towards her. His steps were sure, but his eyes were not. 

He was anticipating her to yell, curse, or be cold.

“Thank you.” Prim said, accepting his roses for the first time. She gently brought the bouquet to her nose and closed her eyes to sniff.
