Mason ran a hand through his hair, pacing once. “She was in an accident.”

“Oh no…” I whispered.

He was already reaching for his coat and keys. I hesitated, my mind was racing. I had no right to intrude, I was just his assistant but somehow, it didn't feel right letting him go alone in this state. This is also a chance to get closer to him.
