I woke to comfy sheets and sunlight. I could feel the warmth of the morning sun peeping through the crisp curtain, revealing golden streaks across the room. I opened my eyes slowly as if someone were trying to wake me up from a long, deep sleep. Then it came back to me. The contract, the look I couldn’t quite name on Leo’s face when he saw them, and the second look he gave me when he said I wasn’t alone.
