My eyes widened, shimmering with tears.

Leo’s voice echoed around the room, and a deep silence followed that one could easily hear a needle drop.

I was too shocked to speak; instead, I froze, staring at him as if he had just confessed to a crime, and not…love. 

The more I stared at him, the more he looked different from the Leo that approached me. This one looked so raw and uncaged, with eyes pleading for a favourable reply.
