ROSE’S POV

“Stop!”

That was Ruby. Her voice echoing off the walls. Her expression wasn’t peaceful at all, it was deadly.

Lord Akbar stopped and looked back, I also wonder what’s up with her this time.

What surprised me was that, Akbar didn’t let go of my hand, instead he was still holding me as Ruby advanced towards us.

Dad desperately rushed towards her but she didn’t act as if she saw him, her eyes were fixed on Akbar and I not breaking it.

From the corner of my eyes, I watched Brian rushed in too, his eyes full of surprise and dismay as he watched Ruby approached us.

From the bottom of my heart, I really wish it was him holding my hand on the alter like this and Ruby, rushing towards me like this to give me a good hug.

Instantly, as I was thinking of this, it feels as if it’s true, Ruby’s deathly expression changed to smile and the man holding my hand, became Brian. I spread out my hand to receive my sister’s hug but…

‘Par!!!’

“Ruby!!” Dad yelled desperately jerking me out of my dreamland. Ruby Just… Ruby Just slapped me, hard and painful. I held my check, while the pain burned me like silver.

“That’s the slap you gave me earlier Rose” Ruby said evenly and I exclaimed. Akbar dropped my hand and stand before me therefore shielding me from seeing what Ruby’s next actions were.

“What are you doing here?” Akbar’s voice that has now changed to a husky and furious one asked.

“Rescind it.” Ruby growls. “Take back your claim on her Lord Akbar, I’m now ready to marry you”

What?

I lightly pushed Akbar aside and faced Ruby with shock, “What are you saying Ruby?”

“I’m Lord Akbar’s’s real bride and I’m here to get married to him!” She assert again.

To my amusement, Akbar laughs lightly, leaning closer to Ruby whose expression was filled with some bravado I never seen in her before even though, now that Akbar leaned closer, she reeks of fear.

He is unreadable as he tilts his head, looking her up and down. “Looking at you made me realize that made a mistake by chosing you. Had I know you have sister like Rose I’ll have…..”

“Rose tell him to stop all these now and I’ll think of forgiving you” Ruby yelled at me interrupting Akbar.

The room was thrown into silence again, I’m sure the guests will be bored with our dramas now, even dad, he'd slumped on a chair watching the drama.

Is Ruby mad? I want to ask. Anger surged up from inside of me and I wished I could slap her for that statement that I should tell him to stop.

Has she forgotten what she’s done to me?

“You will forgive her?” Akbar ask the question I wanted to ask her, sounding bored.

He takes a menacing step toward her “You refused to marry me because you thought I was mad and pushed your sister to face me. Did you think you think I won’t know what you have been going up and down to ask about me?” He growls, and she bowed her head in self reflection but yet again, Ruby looked up at him….

“I don’t know what you are talking about,” she says cooly, looking away from him and faced me, “I never sent Rose to say anything to you”

“She is a Luna,” He sneers, taking a step back from her like she isn’t worth his time.

He moves behind me and the panic in Ruby’s eyes over takes beautiful grey eyes that I don’t have, jealousy clearly lacing its way through her.

She looks around and sighted Dad, “Dad say something. I’m the one that should marry Lord Akbar!”

Dad didn’t react, he just sat there saying nothing.

“Dad!!” Ruby yelled again but Dad didn’t budge.

Ruby now look like a fool as no one is responding her. Then she faced me again, “Your mate is there go and meet your mate”

I shift back not letting her outstretched hand get to me. “Lord Akbar is mine, see Brian is there. You’ve loved him for two years right Rose?”

Damn! Damn!! Just what on earth do I do with her?

I eyed her with disdain forgetting the fact that we came from the same womb. She played prank with my love and now she’s urging me to go back?

Is she fuckin dumb?

Akbar chuckles like it’s a joke but I can’t bring myself to look at him. Even though I really wished I could recline my oath and go back to Brian, yet, I can’t get the imagination of what had happened between him and my sister out of my head.

No. I won't think of that. They both take my love for a joke, I won’t get decieved by Ruby again.

“Ruby you want to elope, then do so and stop all these drama!” I tell her but she crossed her arms on her chest with a hiss. “I don’t come here because I want to be here. You pushed me here Ruby or have you forgotten?”

Ruby didn’t budge, instead she smirk and faced me, “You stole what’s mine this time and I won’t let you get away with it”

“Ruby you…!!” I was about to yell when Lord Akbar comes before me and his frame blocks my view of Ruby and I stopped fuming.

He raised his slender fingers and take a hold of my chin, making sure I’m looking directly into those blue eyes.

“You did not steal anything. You’re just fated to be mine and that’s why you walked in here by yourself”

“What?”

He took my hand and we both faced Ruby and he said, “You don’t belong here Ruby Vancleff. You have lost a diamond in search of a stone, and now, Rose has got it”

Ruby looked shocked and I just looked down, I don’t know how to react.

With a smile, his hold on my hand tightened and he whispered, “Let’s leave My Luna, the convoy is waiting”
