Nadia's POV
I roughly jumped out of Julian's bed, the long bedsheet tightly clutched to my chest. I was shivering badly, unable to put everything that was happening together.
"But..but how did it happen? I wouldn't in my wildest dream cuddle with you, talk more of a night in your bed. I'm doomed..." I cried out, feeling devastated as tears welled up in my eyes.
This situation was worse than I thought, but he could only shrug his shoulders nonchalantly with eyes emotionlessly roaming over my bed sheet-wrapped body.
I got a blurry recollection from the night before that I had initiated our intimacy, but I still needed a reason why this horndog didn't attempt to stop me.
I was not in my right senses.
"Are you only bothered about this after telling you that your family lawyer is currently reading out your father's will? You know what, your presence in this room irritates me." Julian said bluntly, tucked his shirt, and dashed out of the room.
I felt my world crumble before me, my whole body vibrated by his statement.
I overheard many of my former coursemates joke about how they lost their virginity during high school days with their first lovers.
I failed to protect myself. A knot formed in my stomach in disgust.
I made myself easy. "You will get over this" I muttered a false assurance to myself, struggling to pick up my clothes that were scattered on the floor.
Once I was sure that I looked presentable enough after putting on my clothes, I took the black bedsheet to my room to wash the blood stain later. Thank heavens that everyone's room is upstairs, while the Blackwood couple reside downstairs.
I gulped nervously, trying hard to maintain my normal walking steps even though I kept feeling a sharp pain all over my body.
Nobody noticed my presence till I descended from the staircase. My moment of solace got shortened when my family lawyer said, "With the properties mentioned earlier in detail, my dearest daughter Nadia can only claim everything once she gets married to any of the Blackwood twins. I hope she grasps the weight of that promise and the boundless devotion that comes with it."
Everywhere was as silent as a graveyard, with a puzzled expression on their faces.
An arranged marriage? My eardrums vibrated, making me lose my balance as I collapsed on the floor.
My stepsister, Nicole, was the one who got a glimpse of me when she rashly stood up, screaming with a shaky voice about her dissatisfaction."Why the hell do I have to be her shadow for the rest of my life? Was it my fault that I am an illegitimate daughter? Enough is enough!"
"Something needs to be done regarding this impartiality. I have been assisting Mr Blackwood with handling most of the companies, while she refused to come back after graduating..." Nicole cried out, shaking her head in disagreement.
"How could you?" She lashed out resentfully, pointing an accusative finger at me.
Everyone focused on me, the majority were shocked and I felt my legs tremble.
My breathing was erratic and at this instant, I might pass out. "Good morning, everyone," I managed to speak politely, fiddling with my fingers.
"Where have you been?" Jeff rushed over to my side, assisting me to take a seat beside him.
They all pointed a deep stare at me, every gaze causing a sting in my body as I struggled to speak.
"She was in my room yesterday night, drunk to be precise. We should go back to the main discussion" Julian groaned aloofly.
His backup gave me access to maintain my breathing; I clenched my fists on my lap anxiously. "I heard the most important part of the will," I exhaled, gaining a bit of confidence.
"My father's intention was clear that my sister would assist me in handling everything. I do not wish to get married to any of the Blackwood twins and therefore permit my sister to accomplish my father's request since she is in a relationship with Julian Blackwood," I clarified, hoping they would miraculously accept.
I felt Jeff’s body tense against me at my statement about his twin brother dating my sister.
Seconds of silence passed before Julian muttered in a bored tone, "That sounds like a statement from a toddler who was appointed to be an heiress." He faked a yawn while rubbing his eyebrows.
"As much as this is violating your right, there is nothing you can do. It was decided a few hours after you were born. I had planned to tell you when you arrived because I never expected it to be your late father's condition to claim the properties. How thoughtful of him" Mr Blackwood smiled, nodding his head in contentment.
"Since everything is settled in the presence of the people the deceased wished for, I would like to exit. If there is any threat from your late father's siblings, you can contact me. All other supervisions will be done by Mr Blackwood," My family lawyer said reassuringly and stood up stretching his business card to me. "Long life and prosperity, Miss Wellington" He smiled warmly.
"Thank you" I appreciated with a grim smile, my eyes fixed on his back as I desperately wished he could take me with him.
"That was a wrong impression you gave earlier, Nicole. I understand your pain, but you could have mustered a little bit of patience" Mr Blackwood scolded my already crying stepsister.
"And Nadia dear, the twins are aware of the marriage arrangement a few weeks back, and they surprisingly aren't against it" Mr Blackwood said, eyes specifically on Julian.
Strange for him not to decline because he never listens to his father. It's a miracle that he decided to sleep overnight, definitely on a venomous mission.
My heart somersaulted when our eyes met, "It seems my presence isn't needed here anymore." He said icily and walked out of the building.
"I will give you four weeks to figure out your choice among the twins, and after the marriage preparations, your business training will begin. Don't even give yourself an absurd thought of eloping" Mr Blackwood honed a stern glance at me.
"Jeff cleared his activities for today to spend some quality time with you. Have a splendid birthday" He wished. “I have to join my wife at the company,” He said, redressing his suit before walking out of the building too.
I squeezed my anus to distract myself from Nicole's disdainful gaze. "You think you won? Watch me take everything that is rightfully mine" She affirmed with a sly smirk, eyes shimmering with mischievous intent as she exited upstairs.
Immediately after she was out of sight, I puffed out. Feeling relieved that I had not been intimate with someone she was in a relationship with.
"Those are void threats." Jeff cleared his throat while patting my shoulder.
I would have clutched his arms like a baby, but everything seemed uncomfortable. He was intimate with another woman despite knowing that I was arranged to even if it wasn't particularly him, but he chose a day I would be back.
Am I the weird one? Am I being entitled when sex shouldn't be a big deal? Three men in three days gives off the same impression about intimacy.
I winced at my sudden assumption that Julian might have accepted my advance because he had eyes on Wellington's properties.
"The drink you left on the glass table made me feel unusual. Was there something in it?" I asked, slightly bashful.
"That is one of Nicole's praiseworthy sexual urges tricks..." Jeff said, a vainglorious smirk crossing his lips.
I felt my body got compressed.
Jeff perceived the weight of his disclosure as he panicked "It's not what you think...if you drank the remaining one and slept in Julian's room...it was too strong for you not to have slept with him...Tell me it's a lie"
"No, prove me wrong that the person you had sex with was not my sister. You guys are twins, after all, you passed my sister over and now are determined to come for me?" I replied to him with a look of repugnance.
My head hurt badly; I palmed my face, shaking my head in regret.
