Chapter 3

BLAIR'S POV

Ivan and Mira did not know that I followed them, so I stood outside the door and put my ear to the door so I could hear them.

“Do you think she knows?” I heard Mira speak.

“I don't think so, but she has been acting strange,” Ivan answered.

I was stunned by the confidence in their voice.

“Very strange. She put on a different dress, and not the one I chose.” Mira said.

“I hope she does not know our plans now, but that is unlikely; she is a fool.” Ivan scoffed, and they laughed.

“Come, place your hands on my stomach and feel our baby.” Mira giggled, and I stepped back, rage coursing through me.

Mira was already pregnant. I remembered she travelled immediately after my wedding in my past life. She had stayed there for over a year and returned without the child. She had told me that the father did not want the child, so the child was staying with a relative. She never showed me pictures of her child, which means the child must have been a replica of Ivan.

I was a fool.

“You need to hasten this wedding, so we can be done with this. She must not fall pregnant. That will just create a big mess when we have to kill her.” Mira told him.

The force of her words hit me hard.

Mira, my so-called best friend, was the mastermind behind everything.

I felt a surge of anger and was about to barge in to confront them when I felt someone hold me back, and immediately I felt that same sensation I had felt when I suspected that person to be watching me.

I turned to see who the person was and saw myself staring into the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen.

He shook his head, signifying that I should not confront Ivan and Mira, and then he walked away.

I was stunned by what just happened. It felt like a fever dream, especially since the man looked like a King, so handsome.

I heard the shuffling of feet, so I walked away. I had been second-guessing my plan tonight, but their conversation removed every doubt from my mind. They deserved it and more.

Playing the part, I pretended to look for him, which was when I saw him and Mira walking out.

“Hey, baby, I have been looking for you.” He smiled.

I was repelled by his touch, but I pushed my feelings away. This would soon be over.

“Same, I was looking for you too. Found you leaving a room with Mira.” I smiled.

Mira chuckled awkwardly, and I was glad to see a hint of fear and nervousness in her eyes, but I could not help but add to it.

“Are you okay, Mira? You look pregnant.” I frowned, pretending to be worried.

She paled instantly. “Absolutely not. I am not pregnant. Just stressed.” She denied, and I smiled.

“I guess so, it takes a lot of effort to put this party together, so it must have taken a toll on you,” I said to her.

“Exactly. Mira had worked closely with me to make the party awesome, and we hope you enjoy it.” Ivan chipped in.

“Of course, it's going to be a memorable night for us all to remember.” I smiled as I took a drink from the waiter passing by and sipped.

Ivan and Mira exchanged confused glances, and I pretended not to notice. They were so obvious that I could not believe how daft I must have been in my previous life not to have noticed it.

“Come, Ivan, let's not keep our guests waiting any longer,” I said and held Ivan's hand as we walked to the podium.

The party started with drinks and food, and soon, it was time for us to make a speech.

In my first life, Ivan had been the one to make the speech, and he had talked a lot about Mira and how she had been the one to introduce us and then put together the engagement party.

I had found it cute then that he had acknowledged my best friend, but looking back now, I know they must have mocked me privately.

This time around, I told Ivan that I would be the one to give the speech. He was surprised, but because he was trying to please me due to the change in my attitude, he agreed.

I took the mic and smiled. I looked through the crowd and smiled at my family. My gaze ran over everyone, heart racing as I tried to find the blue-eyed stranger, to no avail. I could feel him watching me, which was weird. I had never felt like that before.

I smiled and began, “I want to appreciate every one of you for coming to celebrate with us, and I hope you have been enjoying yourself.”

I had their undivided attention, so I continued.

“A video of the happy memories Ivan and I have shared is going to be played soon, but then, I would love my best friend Mira, who introduced Ivan and me together to come on stage so we can all watch these beautiful moments together,” I announced, smiling widely.

Mira looked startled at first, but I knew she liked all attention to be on her, so she majestically walked to the podium as everyone clapped for her.

I smiled and hugged her before I continued my speech.

“So now, I would love the media team to play the flash drive,” I said, and the screen came up.

The video started playing, and I could hear the gasps and shock from the people.

“What is the meaning of this? This is not the video!” Ivan shouted.

“Of course not! This is not the video of you and me, Ivan, but a video of you happily banging my best friend Mira!” I screamed back at him while Mira suddenly fell on the floor.
