BLAIR'S POV
I smirked at their reaction. It was funny how they reacted to this one, not knowing I have more in store for them.
They stood frozen in their position, and I could tell they were speechless as the people around them started talking.
“Imagine the nonsense!” “What a disappointment and a big disgrace.” “I never believed that Ivan and Mira were capable of such a disgusting act.“
I smiled as the people were in support of me.
“Ivan, you are a disgrace!“ Someone shouted from the crowd.
It was as if the shout brought him out of his shocked state because he suddenly held my hands, but I pushed him away.
“Why? Blair, why?" Ivan screamed, face flushed, rage filling him.
“Why what?” I asked him, happy.
"Why the public disgrace? Since you knew of my affair with Mira, why didn’t you tell me in private? Why go on with the engagement?" He snarled.
I scoffed at his words. I could not believe that he expected me to go soft on them after knowing the kind of evil they were capable of.
"Look, Ivan, this is just the beginning, there is more to come so be prepared," I warned him.
At that point, my father walked up to him.
"I could never have believed that you would do this to my daughter after the way I treated you. I am disappointed!" He yelled at Ivan, anger and hurt emitting from him.
"No, sir, there is a misunderstanding." Ivan pleaded, in panic, knowing he was going to lose a lot.
“Misunderstanding? Are you not the one in the video?" My father snarled.
"Yes sir, but . . . but . . please, I can explain.” Ivan stammered, not knowing what to say.
"But what? You do not have an excuse and so therefore, the business deal with my company is hereby cut off! You embarrassed my family, you embrassed my daughter, you have no discipline, you are a useless man. I should have you arrested." My father threatened and walked away.
"Sir, no!" Ivan screamed as he ran after my father, trying to hold him, but he was pushed away by my father’s guards.
Just then, Mira stood up and rushed to where I was.
"You bitch! How dare you do this?" She shouted like a madwoman.
I pushed her away and gave her a dirty slap that stunned her, and everyone gasped.
"You are the bitch! You conniving bastard! Oh, you think I don’t know that you are pregnant for Ivan!" I shouted at her.
She staggered in shock at the revelation that I knew her and Ivan’s secrets.
"What? You know? How?" She asked, shocked.
The people around were equally shocked, and they began to mock her.
“Wow! So shameless!” “She dared to get pregnant for her best friend’s fiancé.”
I smiled wickedly at Mira as the shock became too much.
She clutched her stomach in pain, and for an instant, I almost felt sorry for her. Though in my first life she had killed my baby, I still did not want any harm to come to her child, I was not that wicked.
"Ivan!" I called to Ivan who was still sitting on the ground.
He looked up at me weakly, but I did not feel any atom of pity for him. He was ruthless to me and that I could never forget.
"I think it’s time to take your beloved Mira out to the hospital because at this rate, I'm afraid she might lose her baby," I said.
He stood up, still stunned among the boos and insults of the people. As he got closer to where Mira and I were standing, I took a glass of champagne and poured it on him, making him more shocked.
"This is just the beginning!" I told him as I majestically walked out of the hall.
I had tried to keep a calm and collected demeanor all through, but getting outside, I realized how exhausted I was.
Though I had known of Ivan and Mira’s betrayal, it still hurt me. Ivan was just a man, and I might have loved him, but he was just a man. Mira’s betrayal hurt the most. She had been my best friend, my sister. We had been girls together. She had been my soulmate, only for her to do this to me.
I clenched my fist in anger and tried to stifle the sob that was threatening to burst out of me.
"You don’t have to keep it in, you know, there is nobody here, so you can let it all out." Someone said behind me.
I turned back to see that it was the blue-eyed man from earlier. I wiped my tears away and asked, "Who are you?" I asked him.
"Just a man who believes we can be of help to each other." He replied simply.
I was confused.
“Did you send me the box?”
It was a stupid question because he did.
He remained quiet so I snapped “Why are you helping me?”
He did not respond, so I walked away.
"Wait," He called, and I turned to him.
"Are you ready to answer my question now?" I demanded, exhaustion seeping into my bones.
He did not say anything; instead, he gave me a card. I collected the card while looking at it skeptically.
"Come to that event, and you will get all the answers you seek." He said and walked away.
I looked at the card and saw the name Blake Harrington.
The name sounded familiar, and I was wondering who he was when I received a call on my phone.
I saw that it was my dad calling, and I quickly picked up the call.
“Daughter.” He said sweetly in his usual way.
“Hi, Dad,” I replied weakly, sad and tired.
“Where are you?” He asked me, worry in his voice.
“I’m about to leave the venue, I will be home shortly,’’ I told him.
“Alright, do come back quickly, there is good news.“ He told me.
“And what is the good news, Dad, because right now, I could use some.“ I said to him.
“Remember the deal I was proposing with the Harrington Empire? Well, we just received an email that we have been invited to discuss the Harrington party next week.” He articulated.
Now I know why the name sounded familiar. Blake Harrington was the CEO of the Harrington Empire.
My father had told me about a deal he was trying to strike with them, and I could remember that he was also Ivan’s arch enemy in the business world. I was happy that things were beginning to work in my favor. I ended the call with my dad and smiled.
I brought out my phone to book a cab when I received a text. I checked and saw that it was from an unknown number.
I WILL BE EXPECTING YOU AND I WILL HELP YOU GET YOUR REVENGE ON YOUR ENEMIES.
