Chapter 22: A Love Reborn.

The weight of yesterday had at last been exchanged for the hope of tomorrow. Sarah strolled to the pier's end, the orange hues of sunset painting the sky with strokes of flame and amber. The wind carried the scent of salt and warmth, wrapping itself around her like an embrace. And there he was—Lucas, his eyes ablaze with the same silent intensity that had drawn her to him from the beginning. He took her hand, his fingers intertwining with hers, calloused and familiar. "We made it," he whispered, his voice rough with emotion.

Sarah smiled, her heart swelling until she thought it might burst. "Not just made it," she whispered. "We fought for it. Every step, every tear, every second of doubt—we fought through it all."

Lucas pulled her closer, his forehead resting against hers. "And I’d do it all again," he said fiercely. "A thousand times over, if it meant ending up right here with you."

The words settled into her bones, a vow written in the language of their own scars and healed wounds. She tilted her head back, drawing his lips down to hers in a kiss that was salt and promises—of mornings tangled in sheets, of laughter echoing down vacant halls, of quiet nights where just breathing the same air was enough.

When they pulled apart, Lucas brushed a tear from her cheek—one she hadn’t even realized had fallen. "Hey," he teased softly, "no more tears. Not unless they’re happy ones."

Sarah laughed, the sound bright and unburdened. "Then you’d better keep making me happy," she challenged.

Lucas's smile was slow, wicked, and totally irresistible. "Oh, I plan to." He drew her into his arms, spinning her as the waves crashed against the pier, their laughter blending with the wind.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the world with colors of violet and gold, Sarah knew this wasn't another chapter--it was a rebirth. Their love had been through fire, through time, through every single force that had tried to tear them apart. And yet, here they were, unbroken.

Together, hand in hand, they walked—not into a finale, but into a forever that stretched out beyond the horizon. And in that moment, Sarah was perfectly certain: their flames would never fade.

For some loves weren't just eternal.

They were unstoppable.
