The dawn broke over Grayhound with an eerie calm, the mist of the previous night still clinging to the trees like a ghostly shroud. The forest, now quiet, seemed to be holding its breath, as if it knew the storm was far from over. I stood atop the ridge overlooking the camp, Light nestled against my side, Liam clinging to my other arm, and Beauty at my shoulder. My eyes traced the horizon, alert to the slightest movement.
