I woke up to sunlight coming through the window and Jax was already gone but there was a note on the pillow that said "Went to check on patrol be back soon" and I got up slow because my whole body felt heavy like I'd been carrying bricks in my sleep.

The necklace was still around my neck and it felt warm against my skin and I touched it wondering what exactly it was supposed to do and if it was already doing something I couldn't feel yet.

I got dressed and went outside and the yard was busy ...
