I lasted three more years after the doctors gave me their prognosis and honestly those turned out to be some of the best years of my entire life because I stopped worrying about all the things I couldn't control and just focused on being present with the people I loved.

The first year was the easiest physically because my body hadn't deteriorated too much yet and I could still do most of the things I'd always done just maybe a bit slower and with more rest breaks than before.
