I didn't get out of bed for two days and nobody tried to make me either because they all knew what it felt like to lose someone and they gave me space which I was grateful for even though the space just made the emptiness worse.

Penelope came in every few hours with food that I didn't eat and water that I barely touched and she'd sit there quiet for a bit then leave without saying much and I appreciated that she didn't try to tell me it would be okay because it wouldn't be.
