Emma's POV

I didn't wait for him to say a word.

Maybe he was going to stop me.

Maybe not.

But I couldn't take the silence anymore.

So I walked out.

My legs moved on their own, carrying me down the long hallway of his company-this place that once felt warm, now cold and unfamiliar. Eyes turned toward me. Whispers trailed in my wake. I didn't hear them, not really. I didn't care.

They could stare.

They could wonder.

They could judge.

All I knew was that it was over.
