"What?" I questioned in a laugh, offering him a dumb expression as I thought maybe I heard wrong, nonetheless his expression remained the same. "Did you seriously just ask me that?"

"Yes," he affirmed. "I did."

"Why?" I chuckled, my palm flying to my lips in a bid to stop my laugh.

"Because I care Ivonne," he blurted, shoving his palm into the right side pocket of his slacks.
