“Easy today, Megan,” I said, my voice low, flirty but soft, stepping out of the limousine with her, the morning sun glinting off the skyscraper’s glass.

She adjusted her skirt, her eyes wary, her fingers brushing the diamond choker I gave her, its weight a reminder of my control, but I kept my tone gentle, like this morning’s breakfast, trying to ease her after her breakdown last night.
