Chapter 12 Little Girl

Ten acres of spiritual millet had completely matured, and it was yellow and clear as it bent down heavily. The millet emitted a faint alluring fragrance. Chu Jun's upper body was naked, revealing a well-proportioned and sturdy figure. He was harvesting spiritual millets under the blazing sun. Chu Jun held a Hundred Treasures Pouch in his hand and tossed the spiritual corn from the corn ear into the Hundred Treasures Pouch. This Hundred Treasures Pouch was a special spatial item. It could hold five square meters of items. The price was quite expensive. It cost a total of five hundred spirit beans. If it wasn't for selling that thunderous beast crystal, Chu Jun wouldn't have been able to afford it.

Just as Chu Jun was working so hard, a skinny little girl in a checkered skirt jumped to the edge of the spiritual field. She took out a small cloth bag from her pocket and put it on her small arm. She followed behind Chu Jun and picked up the corn that had fallen to the ground. The little girl would happily pick the uncleaned corn from the ear and put it into a small cloth bag in a precious and heavy manner.

In the past two days, as long as Chu Jun began to harvest spirit poppies, the thin and weak little girl would appear on time with a small cloth bag. This little fellow was very sensible. He would never touch the Spirit Millet that Chu Jun hadn't harvested yet, only picking up the missing ones. Sometimes, Chu Jun deliberately spilled some of the spiritual corn, or left out a dozen or so spiritual corn grains on the ear of the corn, so the little girl would leave every day with a small cloth bag full of them.

"Little guy, tell Uncle your name?" Chu Jun wiped his sweat and asked casually.

This was the third time Chu Jun had asked such a question. The skinny little girl glanced at Chu Jun with her eyes like black grapes. She lowered her head and continued to seriously search for the spikes on the ground. A small cloth bag containing a small pinch of spirit poppies was swaying at the corner of her arm.

"Looks like he's really a mute!" Chu Jun sighed in his heart.

Chu Jun was born into a poor family in his previous life. He didn't have enough food or clothing. He was sent to the Special Forces when he was nine years old and never returned home. He vaguely remembered that he had a sister who was two or three years younger. She was as tall as the little girl in front of him. Her hair was yellow and thin to the point of being skin and bones. It was as if she could be blown up by the wind, but she was very sensible and obedient.

The little girl, who was seriously searching, suddenly cried out in pain, tears spinning in her eyes. Chu Jun hurriedly asked with concern, "What's wrong?"

The little girl raised her right middle finger at Chu Jun . She was very thin, but her skin was strangely white and tender. Her little hand was so tender under the sunlight that it was almost transparent. Even her blood vessels could be clearly seen.

Chu Jun was stunned for a moment before realizing that there was a small hole in her middle finger. Light pink blood slowly oozed out. It should have been cut by the leaves of the Spirit Millet.

Chu Jun didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He bent down and grabbed her small hand. He used a cloth to wipe away the blood stains on her wound. However, blood quickly came out. The little fellow looked at Chu Jun with tears in his eyes, but he didn't cry. After several consecutive attempts, Chu Jun had no choice but to put the little girl's fingers into his mouth. His saliva contained disinfectant and hemostatic ingredients, but only for small wounds.

"Sweet!" Chu Jun looked at the little girl doubtfully. Just now, he saw that the little girl's blood was pink. Chu Jun thought that it was because her blood was too thin. Now, it seemed that this was not the reason at all. Her blood was actually sweet.

"Perhaps the blood of people in this world is sweet, right?" Chu Jun said to himself.

The little girl looked at Chu Jun, who was holding her finger, with a look of timidity in her eyes. Chu Jun took a while to take out the little girl's finger. He noticed that the pale pink blood in his fingertips was slowly oozing out again. There was no way to stop it. Only then did Chu Jun realize the seriousness of the problem. He remembered that there was a type of wound that could not heal due to lack of platelets. Even a small wound could lose too much blood and die. This kind of person was called a "glass man". He had to be cautious in everything he did. He couldn't cut his skin, because even a small injury could be fatal. Once he was injured, even a small injury would require a platelet transfusion from the hospital to stop the bleeding.

Seeing the blood on the little girl's finger continuously spurting out, Chu Jun couldn't help but become anxious. He held the thought of trying out the New Moon Divine Power. Under the cold and pure divine power of the New Moon, the wound on the little girl's finger slowly stopped bleeding. Seeing this, Chu Jun couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

"Be careful in the future!" Chu Jun withdrew the crescent moon divine power and smiled as he touched the little fellow's head.

The little girl had two sparkling tears hanging on her long eyelashes and nodded her head. This was the first time she had responded to Chu Jun's words. Chu Jun took the little fellow's cloth bag and filled it with spirit corn before hanging it back on her arm. He smiled and said, "There's no need to pick it up. Uncle will give you a bag!"

The little girl placed the cloth bag on the ground, pointed at the Hundred Treasures Sack in Chu Jun 's hand, waved her small hand, and whispered, "No!"

Chu Jun was stunned. It turned out that she could speak.

"Uncle gave it to you. Why not?" Chu Jun asked curiously.

The little girl lowered her head and spat out three words, "Daddy curses!"

Chu Jun couldn't help but be surprised. He smiled and said, "Tell daddy that you picked it up!"

The little girl shook her head and said no. Seeing that, Chu Jun could only pour the spiritual millet in the small cloth bag back into the Hundred Treasures Pouch, leaving only half of it behind. The little girl looked at Chu Jun eagerly, but she refused to take the small cloth bag. Chu Jun grabbed two more spiritual millets from the cloth bag, and then she took the small cloth bag and put it on her arm. Chu Jun was suddenly moved to the point that his nose was a little sour. What a sensible little fellow!

Following that, Chu Jun continued to silently harvest the Spirit Millet, and the little girl continued to follow closely behind him to pick up the leaks. Sometimes, Chu Jun deliberately threw away the entire unharvested corn ear. The little girl seemed to have seen through Chu Jun's intentions and would pick it out and return it to Chu Jun every time.

The sun had set, and the little girl was staggering away with a bag full of spirit millets. Chu Jun felt a strange joy in his heart, so he packed up and left. Shortly after Chu Jun left, a tingting figure turned out from behind the tree. Her bright eyes that were like smoke and water were sparkling, gentle and graceful, and her beautiful face was ashamed of flowers and closed moons. Zhao Yu watched as Chu Jun's upright figure disappeared from his line of sight. He sighed faintly, turned around and disappeared into the twilight.

Chu Jun arrived at the spiritual field early the next morning to continue harvesting spiritual poppies. However, he waited until noon and did not see the thin little girl with a cloth bag appear. In the next few days, until Chu Jun harvested the last spiritual millet, the little girl never appeared again. Chu Jun actually felt a faint sense of disappointment in his heart. He faintly felt that something might have happened.

The spiritual millet harvest was abundant. Chu Jun had harvested 29,000 jin of spiritual millet from his ten acres of spiritual field. The yield was almost 3,000 jin per mu. After handing over 20,000 jin, there was still 9,000 jin left. He was truly envious of others. Many people even ran over to learn from Chu Jun, an expert cultivator. Chu Jun exchanged 9,000 jin of spiritual millet for 800 spiritual beans, which could be considered a small profit.

After harvesting the Spirit Millet, the Heavenly Sect welcomed a lively grand event-the Martial Arts Tournament.

Whether it was the inner or outer disciples, they were all excited and anticipated. Many of them even sharpened their spears and ran to the martial arena every day. They wished they could immediately become top experts and win the first place. Most importantly, they wanted to win the prize for the first place. One had to know that the upper echelons of the Zhengtian Sect had extremely generous prizes in the top ten of the Tournament in order to encourage their disciples to cultivate diligently. Last year, the first place of the inner sect disciples rewarded a second-grade elementary-level magic treasure, and the first place of the outer sect disciples rewarded 10,000 spirit beans. This truly made people envious.

For outer sect disciples, there was another thing that was even more worthy of their expectation, and that was the Spirit Trial after the Martial Arts Convention. They were not sure if they could test their Spirit Roots. That would be the moment a carp jumped into the Dragon Gate and a pheasant flew onto the Phoenix Branch!

Chu Jun was very interested in the first place prize, and he was also very interested in the Spirit Trials. Being able to enter the inner sect meant that he could cultivate the Heavenly Sect's cultivation method, the type of cultivation method that could discharge electricity. Early in the morning, Chu Jun rushed to the Yao Wu Palace to register for the outer sect disciples' martial arts convention.

When Chu Jun saw the skinny youth sitting behind the counter, he couldn't help but be shocked. This fellow was precisely the wretched guy who wanted to buy his own thunderfluorite . Just as Chu Jun was hesitating whether he should go forward and register, the outer sect disciples behind him began to urge him. The thin youth behind the counter raised his head and swept a glance at Chu Jun. He impatiently shouted, "Hey, hey, what about you … sign up quickly, Yours Truly's time is very precious!"

Chu Jun was stunned for a moment. He suddenly understood that he had been shocked to the point of being inhumane that day, so he couldn't recognize him now. Chu Jun said, "My name is Chu Jun!"

The thin youth wrote down Chu Jun in his notebook. Suddenly, he raised his head to stare at Chu Jun and asked, "Why do you look so familiar? Have we met before?"

Chu Jun grinned and said, "I have a popular face. Many people say that my face is familiar when they see me. Senior Brother has mistaken me for someone else!" After saying that, he turned around and left!

The skinny youth scratched his head with his pen and muttered to himself, "Public face? Yours Truly is also a public face. Why didn't anyone say that I look familiar … Next person, that … Yours Truly, quickly sign up. Yours Truly's time is precious!"

Just as Chu Jun left the hall, a human wall stood in front of him. He raised his eyes and saw three sturdy men looking at him coldly. Chu Jun frowned and said indifferently, "What advice do the three senior brothers have?"

These three were Niu Pang , Zhu Chong, and Hou Qiang. Zhu Chong and Hou Qiang had gloomy expressions and wished they could tear Chu Jun apart.

"Chu Jun, what a good method. I've underestimated you!" Niu Pang said coldly. Chu Jun shrugged his shoulders and said, "I don't understand what you mean!"

Niu Pang laughed sinisterly, "I will use my fist to let you understand!" After he finished speaking, he stomped his foot. The stone slab on the ground actually cracked a few lines. It could be seen how terrifying the power of his stomp was.

Chu Jun calmly circled around the three of them. After taking a few steps, he turned around and said indifferently, "I'll wait!"

"Brother Niu, that brat must have let the Black Epidemic Moth go against us. Damn it, I've been pecked by geese all day long. This daddy has never suffered such a loss!" Hou Qiang said angrily.

Niu Pang said with a gloomy expression, "This brat actually has the ability to cure the Black Epidemic Moth!"

"Who cares? This Martial Arts Convention will find an opportunity to kill him!" Zhu Chong said ruthlessly. The loss of more than a hundred acres of Spirit Millet made his heart ache so much that he hated Chu Jun thoroughly.
