“Who was that?” I asked once Victor was off the phone. He showed the screen to me and I saw it was Jeff.

“Jeff?” I quizzed while he nodded slowly.

“Why was he calling you?” I pressed.

“He said he needed Officer Kane’s number. He was one of the officers that came to arrest those fools.” He chimed in.

“Let me just send it to him,” he added, and then proceeded to do some things on his phone before looking back up to face me.
