Now that things between me and Lucien are more or less settled, I’m calmer.

It’s strange and maybe even a little doubtful, but I do believe that he’s telling me the truth. I don’t know—it’s something in his eyes that tells me that he’s not lying to me.

I pull my hand back when I realize that he’s been holding it for too long, and Lucien seems to step back like he wants to give me space.
