I didn’t remember falling asleep.

One moment, I was staring at the faint glow of the dying embers in the hearth, listening to the wind whisper outside my window, and the next, everything around me was gone.

The air turned heavy, thick with heat and smoke.

“Where am I?” I asked myself, deeply confused.

Suddenly, a fire appeared in front of me.
