“Is the stranger still in our pack, alpha?”

The morning started like any other, a cold calm over the Shadowfang hall.

Reports came in from the council, supply inventories, border updates, trade talks.

Suddenly, the door of the throne room opened and Cairn leaned in close, voice low enough for only me to hear.

“Alpha,” he murmured, “envoys from the Moonfang pack just arrived at the gates. They claim to be searching for a fugitive female.”
