The chamber belonged to another Alpha, yet tonight it felt more comfortable than my own.

Soft amber lanterns hung from carved wooden beams, their glow warm and indulgent compared to Moonfang’s cold stone halls. Silk curtains drifted lazily in the midnight breeze pouring through the open balcony doors, carrying scents of wine, jasmine, and distant music from the celebration still unfolding below.

Laughter echoed faintly from the courtyard.
