When she asked to stay, he didn’t question it, he just opened the door wider and stepped aside.

She hesitated at the threshold, her fingers curling tighter around the edge of her robe, “I can take the sofa, if that makes more sense.”

He looked at her, expression blank, one brow lifting like she’d said something ridiculous.

“You want to sleep on the sofa,” he repeated, flatly.

She nodded once.

“That’s cute,” he said.
