Isabel felt something warm flutter against her cheek, like soft fingers brushing her skin. Her eyebrows pinched together, still halfway between sleep and reality.

A deep, velvety voice spoke close to her ear, "Why aren't you sleeping in my room?"

She blinked slowly, eyes adjusting to the dim light. Isaac was crouched in front of her, his hand stroking gently through her hair, eyes locked on hers. His brows were pulled in like he’d been watching her for a long time.
