“Adriana, I want to go and check on the babies, I'll be right back. Just get some rest.” I placed the damped towel on her forehead again and left the room.

Throughout the day, my life became a blur of urgent tasks. I had to check on Adriana's temperature. I had to give her more warm water to drink. I had to replace the damp towel. I had to coax her to eat a bite of toast, which she barely touched.
