Adriana's POV

A fleet of black SUVs was also lined up in our compound, their engines idling. The scale of Diego's world, the depth of the danger we were in, hit me with realization. It wasn't a nightmare. Everything was real, horrifying even.

Diego didn't hesitate. He guided me towards the lead SUV, another car I hadn't seen before. One of his men opened the back door. I slid in first, carefully positioning my son, and then Diego followed, laying our son securely on his lap.
