I descended the stairs, carrying both Jimena and Dante in my arms. I was ready to leave. Diego was waiting by the front door. He looked less tired than he had last night, a flicker of resolve in his eyes.

His men had already loaded the last of the luggage onto the trunk of the car. We were finally ready to leave.
