Summer POV

“W-what?” I stammered.

“Why are you hiding?” he demanded.

A shiver ran up my spine. If he found out that I was a fugitive, he would send me back or just kill me. I lied to him, but so did my Dad. Dad broke a dozen rules by bringing me here.

Fear couldn’t cripple me now. I shoved the fear down and stood. Ezra gripped my waist and stopped me from going further.

“Did someone make you uncomfortable, or did you see someone who made you uncomfortable?”
