Who is he?

How dare she talk to him like that? In front of his legal team? In front of Andrea Langston.

He ran his hand through his hair pacing toward the bedroom.

“Hey baby”. Mira said softly, watching him in the mirror.

“You are home late.”

No response.

Mira turned around. “I’ve been waiting for you baby.”

“Today is the window, Damien. The doctors said these three days are the most important if we don’t try now…”

“I can’t, not tonight Mira.” He said

“What’s wrong with you lately? You have been off all week. You come home late, barely speak to me ....”

“Because I have bigger problems than your fertility calendar Mira.”

What did he just say?

He exhaled then looked at her, finally saying it. Aria is back. She’s representing Nexora and leading the case.

Silence.

Mira blinked. “You are joking right?”

“Does it look like I am?” He fired back at her.

And you are what? Worked up over her after all these years. She’s the past.

You don't understand. She’s not the Aria of three years ago. She looks dangerous. She came in with a timeline, evidence and contracts. She’s been building this.

Let me guess. She looked good. All polished and professional?

That’s not the point Mira. He yelled.

Then what is Damien? Instead of you to focus on having sex so we can have a child. You are busy giving your ex wife your attention. Mira fired back.

You don’t understand Mira. I understand enough. Mira hissed. You left her and married me now you are spiraling the minute she shows up.

She’s going to ruin everything. Damien said.

Not under my watch. She won’t get the chance. Mira stepped closer.

Damien raised an eyebrow.”What does that mean?

Leave her to me. You shouldn’t worry about that. Mira replied leaning to his belt.

“I said I’m not in the mood, Mira. Don’t you get it?” He pushed her off and slammed the door behind him.

It’s because of that bitch. I’m going to deal with her. Mira thought to herself.

It had been a long day, but Aria found herself smiling as she looked in the mirror.

Lucas had texted her inviting her for dinner. She also wanted to see him. Since they returned to New York City. They hadn’t quite seen. He was handling his affairs in the company. While Aria had a lot going on as regards her case.

Damn, Aria. He offered her a seat. You wear the courtroom better than anyone I’ve ever seen, but this… this is something else.

She blushed softly, “you are ridiculous.”

You look really pretty tonight. Lucas said, tucking her hair behind her ears.

“Thank you.” She replied softly.

How’s my son Irvin? Lucas asked.

He’s great. He’s been asking about you lately. But I told him you have things to handle and you would come see him once you are done.

“I’m not too busy for my son. Lucas said smiling. Speaking of which, how about this Friday?

“That’s perfect.” Irvin has been dying to see you. Same here I’ve also missed you and Irvin too.

“I told you my house is big enough for you and Irvin but you insist on getting your own apartment.” Lucas told her.

I am always here for you regardless.

I know. Aria said blushing. Excuse me Lucas, I need to use the restroom.

Damien’s blood boiled. He happened to be in the same restaurant that Lucas and Aria were in. He was at the bar so they couldn’t see him. But he could see them. He didn’t know why Aria blushed so hard and he was eager to find out.

As Aria turned headed to the restroom. Damien followed her. She turned and stopped. Damien was standing behind her leaning casually against the wall like he’d been waiting all night.

“What the hell are you doing here Damien? I need to use the restroom and you are in my way.”

He stepped forward. “Who is he?”

“What do you mean?”

I do not want to repeat myself. “Who the hell is the man that you were having dinner with just now.”

“I don’t owe you an answer Damien. Get out of my way. I need to use the restroom please.”

“You owe me an answer and you would answer me right now. His voice was high. Who the hell is that man and why was he touching you that way.”

So? Is there a problem with that? Aria fired back.

Damien grabbed her wrist forcefully. “You belong to me and no one else. You are mine alone. Got it.”

“I can see you are out of your senses. You must be moving mad. Leave me alone now.” She yelled.

But Damien didn’t move. Rather he tightened his grip on her wrist so she could scream in pain.

“I said who the hell is he! Aria?”. Damien snapped.

It’s none of your business. I can do whatever I please. I don’t answer you. We are divorced so you don’t have any right. Whatever I do is none of your business and I don’t belong to anyone.

She removed Damien’s hand from her wrist forcefully. You had better stay away from me. The next time I wouldn’t let you off so easily. Aria told him.

“And what will you do? Damien glared at her. I said, "What will Aria Langley do?" You won’t do shit Aria. I let you off because I want to. You should know you are nothing and I can crush you anytime I want.

“I’ll get a restraining order the next time you come near me Damien Cross. Do not try me.

“You wouldn’t dare. I am Damien cross remember that. I’m one of the most influential men in New York City. No one dared go against Damien Cross. You should know that by now. He fired back.

We shall see about that. Aria responded heading towards the rest room
