Hunger

Rayna woke to the sound of rain tapping against the glass wall of the mansion. The gray morning light seeped through the curtains, thin and cold, making her pull the duvet tighter around her shoulders. Her stomach rolled the second she moved, a wave of nausea hitting her so suddenly she barely had time to stagger into the bathroom.

Her knees hit the cold tile as she leaned over the toilet, retching violently. She coughed, spat, and gasped for air as her throat burned with acid.
