Zade's Pov

By the time I got home, my blood was still burning.

I didn’t bother to greet anyone. My boots hit the marble floor hard, the sound echoing down the hall. The servants scattered like mice, their eyes down, but I could still feel them watching me from the corners.

Caspian thought he was clever. He thought that smirk at the end meant something, thought I didn’t notice how he gripped the glass I’d left, sniffing it like he’d discovered a secret.

Idiot.
