Blood was all I saw. All I smelled, all I tasted. The battle still raged around me, but my mind was stuck on his words.

“Nyx is dead.”

Zade’s voice echoed in my head, cruel and sharp, as if he had carved the words into my soul. My claws dripped with his blood, but it wasn’t enough. I wanted his eyes. I wanted to tear them out with my bare hands. I wanted to rip his heart out and crush it in front of him.
