The moment the circle flared around me, I knew I was trapped. I couldn't move an inch. I was stuck in the circle and I hated it.

I felt the fire burn against my skin, a heat that went straight to my bones. Every time I tried to move forward, pain shot through me, tearing at my muscles, ripping at my chest. I dropped to one knee, my claws digging into the ground, my breath harsh and ragged.

I felt utterly helpless.
