Christiana was smitten. It was her first time of seeing a man half naked which made her heartbeats fasten. She couldn’t help but say the words which escaped her lungs.

“You__ you pervert” Christiana shouted. Theo let go of her and they both stand feets away from each other.

“You were the one who seemed to enjoy assaulting me” Theo said, his hands were back in his pockets while he stares at Christiana’s innocent eyes. She was hesitating to look up at him because she still finds it uneasy seeing his body. Theo noticed and goes over to change into a T-shirt.

Before he could turn to face her, she had taken his gun which he had left close to where she had slept, he had forgotten to hide it.

“Easy princess, it’s not a toy” Theo said calmly knowing she wouldn’t pull the trigger, it was clear to him that it’s her first time holding a gun with the way she held it.

“More of the reason you should stay away from me, who the fuck are you” Christiana said while taking slow steps backwards. She was scared as she was aware they were on air.

“I’m…” Theo was going to lie but then thinks there was no use in lying since he wanted her to trust him.

“My name is Theodore like I told you earlier today, I’m actually a friend of your father, Ellis” Theo explained. Christiana’s brows furrowed, she was confused because just in a day, she got to know about her father and it almost got her killed.

“Why do all my father’s friend try to kill me” Christiana said.

“Oliver isn’t Ellis’s friend, they were enemies” Theo responded.

“So you are saying you are my father’s real friend without any evidence” Christiana questioned.

“You don’t recall Ellis and Hannah’s faces” Theo said. The only evidence he had was a picture he took with Ellis and Hannah, it was taken when Hannah was pregnant with Christiana.

“So…” Christian’s said.

“I only have a picture we took together, along with your mother” Theo said and goes to where he dumped his wallet. He retrieves a photo out of it and walks towards Christiana who stepped back while the gun was still pointed at Theo. Nevertheless, Theo walked closer.

“Give me the gun” he said. Christiana stared at him for a while before handing the gun over to him.

“Here” Theo gave her the photo. He walks away from her to hide the gun. Christiana stared at the image held in her hand. It included Theo standing at the right hand side of Hannah who her stomach was bulgy and Ellis stood at her left hand side, their faces lit up in a bright smile.

“You were in there, in your mother’s belly, I used to enjoy watching you move violently in her” Theo had a smile on, he was recalling those moments. Christiana looked up at him, seeing all the sincerity she needed to believe him.

“You are my godfather” Christiana said.

“Yes, and I’m sorry for leaving you all these years” Theo said and Christiana scoffs.

“You are sorry?, well of course you are, after all you aren’t my father” Christiana said upset that he exists all these years without showing himself to her until her grandmother died.

“I have no excuses, I’m sorry” Theo apologized. He wasn’t planning on giving her the whole reason he stayed away.

“Who was my father? Why does he have such dangerous person as a enemy?” Christiana questioned. It was what had been on her mind when Oliver had been talking about him.

“Ellis was good, he was a good father, a good friend and a good colleague, don’t mind anything Oliver must have said, they were all lies” Theo said.

“I can’t seem to believe anything again, anyone” Christiana said.

“Take your time” Theo said and Christiana gave no response.

“Everyone should get buckled up, we are about to land” They heard a voice come from the speaker.

“Get sitted” he commanded her. She couldn’t object since it was for her safety but she didn’t like being ordered around like that.

The plane lands in ten minutes. Dreco enters where they were.

“Boss, the cars are ready” Dreco informed.

“Christiana, this is Dreco, he’s my PA” Theo introduced. Dreco flashed Christiana a smile which was surprising to Christiana because she thought of him as someone who could never smile.

“We should go” Theo said and stands up first. The spread out his arm for her to take it but she didn’t, she stands up on her own and walks towards the exit. Theo smiles. He thinks the attitude was a good sign of them getting to know each other.

When they got outside of the plane, Dreco led Theo and Christiana to the car they will be in. The car starts in two minutes after everyone was settled in.

“Where are we going” Christiana asked.

“Home”Theo simply responded.

Christian said no more. She only kept her gaze outside the windscreen but her mind was far away gone from presence. She was recalling the image of her parents, trying to remember the memories of them that had been lost but it was to no avail.

On the other hand, Theo was also on the thought of memories of the past. He recalls his promise to Ellis and thinks of the best way to fulfill them. He looked sideways and sees Christian’s staring out at the view.

“I’m going to be by your side from now on, you have me now” Theo said breaking the silence in the car.

“So reassuring” Christian’s said with utmost sarcasm which made Theo smile. Christiana’s behavior made him recall Hannah’s behavior, they were just the same. Smile fades away from his lips as those memories flashed back in his mind.
