Eva's POV

"The path is clear!" I looked at the living area from the stairs where no Mark could be seen, which relieved me.

I immediately walked down the stairs and moved fast to open the main door with my hand before I could push the doorknob. Mark's strong voice comes from behind.

"Eva! Where are you going?" 

I felt jolted with nervousness while my hand was tightly pressed on the doorknob.
