LATER THAT NIGHT…

I took a deep breath and shivered as I stepped out of the bathroom, wrapped only in a towel, and walked slowly toward my bed, where my already prepared nightgown lay waiting. I dried my wet hair and tied it back in a long ponytail to stop the strands from sticking to my face.

I paused, placing a hand on my waist as I glanced at the nightgown.
