The second the door clicked shut behind him, the atmosphere shifted. It felt… different. Heavier. I looked up slightly, and that’s when I saw Roman leaning back in his chair, legs spread wide, that careless grin on his face. He reached into his jacket and pulled out a cigarette box, shaking it lightly.

“Anyone?” he asked, his voice lazy.
