I walked through the Shadow Pack’s eerie castle with a smile that felt intensely tight on my face. Stone walls rose high around me like the ribs of some great, skeletal beast.

Torchlight threw moving, deceptive shapes along the dark corridors, and every footstep loudly echoed twice. I kept my head held high. Tomorrow, I would return to the rogue pack with the Shadow Alpha’s dark agreement firmly in hand.
