The Fateful Meeting

Elena's POV

I couldn't explain my excitement; I was just excited. The chagnce I have been waiting for has finally come.

After many years of desperately trying to prove myself to my father, I was not able to take an extremely active part in his business.

My father's company which I was in charge of never really seemed to me like I was helping our mafia family in any way. My father had established the company to throw off police who usually suspected his amount of wealth.

I always looked at the place like a camouflage, hiding the real deal from the public eye. I would say I found myself hating it sometimes, but who would have thought that the building I hated so much would be the venue which marked the beginning of me becoming the next head of the family.

As I walked in through the front door, admist the several greetings being thrown to me by employees, I received a call from Jason, my personal secretary and my best friend, also known as, my portable schedule that follows me everywhere, listens to my problems and helps when I'm trying to make a difficult decision.

"Hi Jason, good morning" I greeted on the phone.

"Good morning ma'am. I have good news" He said.

I was curious as to what could be considered good news, especially in this period when we lost a good deal due to Noah's reckless attitude.

"Well, don't keep me waiting" I got to a vacant elevator and entered. Immediately my two bodyguards had joined me, we began going up to my office.

"Noah has been found, better still, he's waiting in the secret conference room in the top floor" He replied.

I couldn't control the smile developing on my face. Noah was waiting for ME to see him and help remove reduce the problem he has potentially put on our family.

I put my hand on my mouth to prevent myself from laughing as I imagined the feeling of embarrassment that would invade him when he sees me behaving like the boss I am meant to be.

"Okay, I'll be there soon" I hung up. I turned to one of my bodyguards, the one closer to the elevator buttons. "Change of plans. We're going to the top floor."

He nodded his head in obedience then clicked on a red button. It activated a rectnal scan which he used to reveal another button, taking us to the secret top floor with ease.

I almost couldn't control my speed when I walked down the hall to meet up with Jason.

Standing beside the door was Jason holding a big tablet to his chest, as always, a smile planted on his face as he watched me walk towards him with an aura if confidence.

Standing beside him was Andrew, my cousin the infamous black sheep of the Morallis family. The several men around me were confused as to why my father wasn't around to settle the issue himself, however, they didn't slack behind in offering their greetings.

"It's finally time" Jason said when I had reached where he was.

I flashed him a smile. He was the only person that understood how much I have struggled to get to where I was currently in the Morallis Family. An opportunity to make my father proud was something I couldn't afford to make any sort of mistakes.

"Just get in" Andrew said, aiming to ruining my good mood.

I walked inside accompanied by Jason while my guards waited for me outside. The look on Andrew's face was priceless when he saw me walk confidently. Sitting on a chair with a bag over his head, Noah Santoro struggled to free himself.

I sat down on my father's usual chair, an air of importance surrounding me.

"Remove his blindfold and free him" I ordered.

The bodyguards obeyed my orders. I came face to face with Noah Santoro, a handsome devil with a captivating face. It was a shame he was from an enemy family.

I had to admit, he was hot. I continuously admired his cute face as I made sure to not seem like a pushover.

I handed a guard stationed beside me my purse. I didn't want to feel feminine any but when I talked to him.He let out a laugh despite how bad he looked: his hair was unkept, his clothes were filthy and his eyes were desperately begging for sleep.

"You're joking, right?" Noah stood up from his chair and tried to search for my father with his eyes. "Where's your boss? I want to talk to him."

"He isn't coming, now sit down and listen to me" I admonished with a stern voice.

He looked at me as if he was staring at someone beneath him. It angered me.

"You must be joking" He mocked.

I suddenly had the urge to slap his handsome face. He had the air of a pompous rich kid.

"You've done a great harm to my family and we both have to look for a way to solve this issue before it turns to a huge war between both our families" I admonished.

"Bullshit!!" He exclaimed while banging his hands on the table. He stared at me angrily. "Don't you dare try to come at me with your crap about solving my issues. I have never needed your help with anything and I most certainly don't need it now."

I was a bit taken aback by his outrageous outburst, but I didn't make the mistake of letting it become visible on my face which I left blank of any emotion.

I had heard that if Noah detects even a tiny pinch of feeling from me, he would know how to appropriately take advantage of it. He had the reputation of being a master manipulator.

"You need to calm down and listen to me" I said, my voice lighter than it was earlier.

Noah shook his head and began making his way out of the conference room. I needed to act fast.

I asked the guard to pass me my purse. I took out my gun, stood up and shot at Noah's leg, causing him to get a flesh wound. As he laid on the floor, his eyes filled with shock fixed on me, I returned the gun to the guard.

"Now that I have your attention, I want you to listen."

Noah let out a loud cry. He was in pain. I stared shocked at the huge amount of blood leaving his body.

I began to regret taking that drastic decision earlier. In a short amount of time, a pool of blood had gathered in the conference room.
