Rex finds me alone in the armory at dawn, his expression grim enough to make my wolf surge to the surface with defensive fury. I'm cleaning weapons that don't need cleaning, anything to keep my hands busy while Moira sleeps off yesterday's magical episode. The scent of gun oil and steel usually calms me, but not today.
