Both Lucas and I go very still. Through our mate bond, I feel her certainty mixed with something that feels like ancient knowledge.

"What kind of binding?" Lucas's voice comes out rough.

"A truth ritual," she explains. "It would force Tyler to be honest about his motivations while creating a magical compulsion toward pack loyalty. He'd literally be unable to betray us again."
