I wake to silence.

Not comfortable quiet—the tense, waiting kind. I shift in bed and the babies kick. My back aches. Two more weeks until they're due.

Logan's side of the bed is empty. I reach through the mate bond.

'Where are you?'

'Security office. Reviewing final positions. Stay in bed.'
