Slade's POV

Allison 's eyes flickered with fear. I expected her to be shocked, but I didn't see fear coming.

Before I knew it , she was lost in her head. I wasn't a mind reader, so I wasn't sure what she was thinking, but it was surely about me asking her where we were going.

She had gone through a lot , and I didn't have any intention of messing with her. If only I knew how she had taken it to heart.
