Tom headed straight home out of anger and frustration. He met his wife, Jane, coming out of the kitchen with a glass of water, dressed in her nightwear, and about to retire to bed.

Jane stopped halfway when she saw Tom walk into the house, flared up and obviously angered and seeking whom to vent to.

“You’re back,” Jane said nonchalantly and was about to walk away with her glass of water.
