My eyes widened as I clutched the sheets tighter against my chest. Why would he want me to witness something so cruel? I didn't think I could stand by and watch innocent people get slaughtered-just sitting there helpless, doing nothing. And worse, I'd have to endure it from the side of our enemies. The thought alone made my stomach churn. Goddess help me, if I had my bow and arrows, I wouldn't hesitate to shoot every last one of Stefano's soldiers.
