Standing in the hospital, watching Liam beat Jax bloody sent an odd calmness over me. I wasn't afraid and I needed to protect Jax.

I knew I wasn't strong enough to stop Liam, but I knew his wolf would never allow our child to be harm, despite what he said earlier.
